David Cameron criticises Labour on legacy of debt
"Our huge public debt is clearest manifestation of our economic mistakes", David Cameron is expected to say tomorrow. The government is preparing to launch its first budget, which is widely expected to contain the deepest cuts since the 1970s, as Britain's search for effective debt relief solutions continues.
During the general election, the Conservative party was delicate around the subject of the economy, as talk of cuts and a new age of austerity alarmed voters and those polled for opinions.
"Our economy has ... become far too dependent on the public sector, with over half of all jobs created in the last 10 years associated in some way with public spending.", the Prime Minister is expected to say. A strong attack on the previous Labour government's handling of the economy is expected, as Britain prepares for cuts amidst a eurozone ridden with debt relief plans and continuing warnings from the IMF.
